SJM Carpentry & Building employee Luke Burge has received the top prize in the Mid North’s 2010 Vocational Education and Training Student of the Year Award.
The Clare High School year 10 student is a school-based apprentice, who combines his school studies with an apprenticeship at SJM Carpentry & Building. SJM managing director Sam Macdonald said the award is a fitting tribute to Luke’s dedication throughout the year. “Luke has displayed a strong work ethic and has a natural aptitude for the building industry,” said Mr Macdonald.
The Vocational Education and Training awards recognise the hard work of school-based trainees in the Mid North of South Australia and are a partnership between Barossa Lower North Futures, the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council and the Lions Club of Clare District.
